Google Merchant Center Multi-Country Feed: How to Sell Across Europe

Expanding Google Shopping to multiple countries does not require separate Merchant Center accounts for each market. A properly configured multi-country feed lets you run Shopping campaigns across several European markets from a single account and feed structure.

How multi-country feeds work

When you set up a feed in Merchant Center, you designate target countries. For each country, Google needs: correct pricing in the local currency, availability data that matches what customers in that country can actually purchase, and landing pages that serve the relevant language and currency.

For EU markets sharing the euro (Germany, France, Netherlands, Belgium, etc.), you can often use a single EUR-priced feed targeting multiple countries, as long as your website serves those markets with consistent pricing.

Setting up multi-country targeting

In Merchant Center: go to Products, then Feeds. When creating or editing a feed, you can select multiple target countries. You can also add additional target countries to an existing feed by editing it and selecting additional countries from the list.

For each country you add, Merchant Center will check that your products meet that country's requirements. Some countries have additional required attributes (e.g., energy efficiency labels for electrical products in EU markets).

Currency and pricing for multi-country feeds

If you sell in both EUR and GBP markets (e.g., Germany and UK), you need either separate feeds with the correct currency for each, or you can use feed rules or supplemental feeds to override the price attribute per country. Google does not automatically convert currencies from your main feed price.

The price in your feed must exactly match what the customer sees at checkout in their country. Currency mismatches are a common cause of disapprovals when expanding to new markets.

Language requirements

For most EU markets, Google accepts product titles and descriptions in English but will perform better if they are in the local language. German customers searching in German will see English titles less often, because Google tends to serve locally optimized listings more prominently. For serious multi-country campaigns, localized titles and descriptions in each market language give better results.

You can use supplemental feeds to override titles and descriptions per country without maintaining separate primary feeds.

Multi-Client Accounts for agencies

If you manage Shopping for multiple separate merchants, a Multi-Client Account (MCA) lets you manage all of them from one login. Each merchant gets their own sub-account with their own products and campaigns. MCAs do not change how individual merchant feeds work; they just centralize access.

Frequently asked questions

What is a multi-country feed in Google Merchant Center?

A multi-country feed allows you to use a single product feed to advertise in multiple countries. Google uses the feed data to show appropriate prices and availability in each target country.

Do I need separate feeds for each country?

Not necessarily. For similar markets with the same currency, you can use a multi-country feed. For markets with different currencies or languages, separate feeds or feed-level overrides are usually better.

Can I use one Merchant Center account for multiple countries?

Yes. A standard Merchant Center account lets you add multiple target countries under the same account.
